The only requirements are that you cannot benefit financially off the idea and that you must be available during the event to take the registration.  Funding and all necessary bookings, posters etc. will be handled by Autism Ontario, if selected.

Potential Programme

Autism Ontario Peel Skating

Sat Nov 19, 2016 from 11:15 am - 12 noon

Families are invited to come out for an enjoyable family skating at the Cassie Campbell Community Centre! The rink will be used exclusively for Autism Ontario Peel for the hour!  A limited number of loaner skates are available at no cost, if needed.  Learn to skate instructors and skate aids also on hand for assistance.

This event is open to all families with Autism Spectrum Disorder children, youth and adults.

LOCATION: Cassie Campbell Community Centre, 1050 Sandalwood Pkwy W, Brampton,ON

COST: Free

Supervision of children on ice is necessary by an adult.

Potential Programme

Bubble Soccer

Friday Nov 25 from 6:30-8 pm

Children with ASD, ages 6 and up, are invited to an evening of bubble soccer. Not sure what bubble soccer is?  This video explains. 

We will have 2 courts for Autism Ontario's use.  Kids will be divided based on height and cycle thru playing and resting as follows:

Court#1 - Over 4'10" - Group A will
-play for 10-15 minutes,
-rest for 10-15 minutes,
-play for 10-15 minutes,
-rest for 10-15 minutes

Court #1 - Over 4'10" - Group B will
-rest for 10-15 minutes,
-play for 10-15 minutes,
-rest for 10-15 minutes
-play for 10-15 minutes

Court #2 - Under 4'10" Group C will
-play for 10-15 minutes,
-rest for 10-15 minutes,
-play for 10-15 minutes,
-rest for 10-15 minutes

Court#2 - Under 4'10" - Group D will
-rest for 10-15 minutes,
-play for 10-15 minutes,
-rest for 10-15 minutes
-play for 10-15 minutes 

The games start at 7pm sharp.  Please arrive at 630pm to allow time to prepare and be divided into groups and for instruction.  Children arriving late will not be permitted to participate. 

This event normally costs over $25 a person but is being heavily subsidized by Autism Ontario's Potential Programme.  It will be alot of fun but please note:

  • Parents will not be allowed on the playing field. They will have to wait and watch in the open hallways beside the courts.
  • We will NOT have exclusive use of the whole facility, just the 2 courts we have reserved.
  • This event is loud and NOT sensory-friendly.
  • The bubble goes on over the child's head, and covers the upper torso.  They can see thru the bubble but it confines their arms and can be hot especially if the child is exerting energy.
  • The playing courts are covered with artificial turf.  Clean running shoes, long pants and long sleeve shirts are recommended for all players.

Halloween at Downey's Farm with AO Peel

Oct 30 from 11 am until closing

Families are invited to celebrate Halloween at Downey's Farm!

Activities will include:
Pumpkinfest play area
Tractor drawn wagon rides
Petting corral
Trike track
Mini golf
Pirate ship
Monster truck
Pedal cart track
Goat mountain slide
Live entertainment
Puppet shows
Children's boo barn
Corn maze
Face painting

Costumes are encouraged!

We will have exclusive use of the party room from 12:15pm-2:15pm where the pumpkins will be available to take home and the following food will be served:

Choice of: pop / water
Choice of: pumpkin donuts / gluten-free cookie
Choice of: hot dog / sausage / veggie dog

Check-in on the day of the event will be from 11am - noon. Please arrive during this time.
