When you become a member of Autism Ontario, you automatically become a member of your local chapter. Membership supports the work of our association, both provincially and locally. It strengthens our ability to advocate on behalf of all people with ASD and provides additional benefits such as:

All provincial mailings including Autism Matters magazine (quarterly)

Invitation to Annual Meeting
Voting privileges
Special member rates for programs and workshops
Supports the ongoing advocacy and education work of Autism Ontario

Autism Ontario - Ottawa provides financial support to many programs and activities for the local ASD community. Just a few of the groups, programs and activities that the Ottawa Chapter funds in whole or in part:

Parent Support Group
Family of Adults with ASD Support Group
Aspirations (Support Group for adults with Asperger Syndrome)
Asperger Parent Group
Asperger Youth Group
Annual picnic (in conjunction with Children at Risk)
Annual Christmas Party (in conjunction with Children at Risk)

The Ottawa Chapter Office- outreach and support
Workshops

The Ottawa Chapter is also an active participant on the Special Education Advisory Committees of both English and French language School Boards and makes frequent ASD Awareness presentations throughout the city. The Provincial Association lobbies strongly for the needs of ASD individuals in Ontario and was instrumental in obtaining government support for the Preschool Autism Program. Autism Ontario also obtained a provincial grant to develop the Regional Support Leaders program.

The work and needs of the Ottawa Chapter are ongoing. Donations to the Ottawa chapter are gratefully accepted. If you wish to make a donation on your membership form, please indicate "Ottawa Chapter" in the donation area to designate your gift to our chapter.

Note: You need not be an Autism Ontario member to attend any Ottawa Chapter events or activities.
