SERVING THE MILTON, GEORGETOWN & ACTON COMMUNITIES
Our Vision: Acceptance and opportunities for all individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
Our Mission: To ensure that each individual with ASD is provided the means to achieve a quality of life as a respected member of the community.
Aims and Objectives:
- To offer opportunities for parents and professionals involved with autism to share with and educate each other.
- To advocate on behalf of parents to lobby the school boards for more effective programming and services for children with autism.
- To improve the quality of life fro people with autism and their family by offering skill acquisitions, leisure and recreational programming.
Our Chapter is a non-profit organization, directed and managed by a core of parent members called the Chapter Leadership Council (CLC).
Any chapter member in good standing thirty (30) days prior to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) may be nominated for election to the CLC. Elections are held at our AGM each spring and positions are for a one year term.
Volunteers are the vital ingredient in any Chapter, they are dedicated individuals who strive to ensure that every individual with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is provided with the means to achieve the quality of life as a respected member of society.
This amazing group is comprised of parents, the extended family members, and professionals who volunteer time, talent and energy to help improve the lives of our children, youth, and adults living with ASD.
It is important to note that being a non-profit organization, the chapter does not receive any government funding.
All North Halton Chapter functions are supported by committed volunteers, donations from our community and fundraising initiatives.
