Tween and Teen Night is back! Join us for a night of knocking down pins and fun with friends new and old, at Partners Billiards and Bowl. The fun begins at 6:30. The cost is free and includes shoes! Ideal for parents and professionals. Participants will learn how to understand key components of and create comprehensive programs for their child/student/client. The cost is $50 for both days and will be led by Suzanne Murphy and take place at the Days Inn in Timmins on February 12 and March 4. The funding for this program has been made possible through a Parents Reaching Out Grant by the Ontario Ministry of Education. To register call Kelli at the chapter office or click on the link. We offer social opportunities for our children and speakers and workshops for parents, educators, those caring for people with ASD and the community at large.

Possibilities for Children and Youth with ASD

Two programs are being held in North Bay and Area to improve the lives of children and youth with ASD. HANDS thefamilyhelpnetwork.ca will be offering the second round of PEERS Social Skills Intervention for teens with high functioning ASD beginning on March 20, 2012. For more information contact Hands at 705-476-2293 and ask for the PEERS facilitator. One Kids Place now also offers ABA service and supports. For more information go to the One Kids Place website and click on Applied Behaviour Analysis on the left hand side or call 705-476-5437 and tell them you are interested in the program. Parents can self-refer!
