This Speaker Event, sponsored by the Realize Community Potential (RCP)Program in Niagara Region and Bethesda Services is appropriate for parents/guardians, caregivers, educators, service providers, residential staff, researchers, health care professionals and others.
This Speaker Event is not appropriate for children and adolescents. On-site childcare will not be provided.

About the speaker:.

Dr. Peter Gerhardt

With a doctorate from Rutgers University (PhD- Ed), he is the President and the Chairman of the Scientific Council, of the Organization for Autism Research (OAR).  Previous professional positions include serving as the Executive Director Nassau Suffolk Services for Autism, and an appointment as Research Assistant Professor at the Rutgers University Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology where he served as the Director of the Division of Transition and Adult Services at the Douglass Developmental Disabilities Center.   He currently serves on many professional advisory boards.

What to expect:
Focusing on what he identifies as key skills that we need to build in children, Dr. Peter Gerhardt will also address the continuing need for increased teaching during adolescence while we prepare for adulthood.
