WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION: There are ways to help parents become more confident in their ability to discuss a consistent message about sexuality. One is to clarify the scope of sexuality and its place in relationships, and understand some principles that support learning for teens. Another is to offer a safe environment in which people can rehearse simple sexuality lessons - an environment in which people can ask questions about which they do not have accurate information or which they would have difficulty answering. Finally, it can be helpful to invite people to reflect on the aspects of sexuality education in which they are already successful. This workshop is designed to offer participants information about comprehensive sexuality education and will be a forum for discussing how this can best be offered to the person for and about whom they care. Participants will have the opportunity to network with other families to ensure that sexuality education is available to their teens.
The workshop will be presented in English with some documentation available in French.
A light breakfast, snacks, and lunch will be provided.
