Update on IMFAR Travel Bursaries 2006

IMFAR (International Meeting for Autism Research) is currently the premier autism conference in the academic community. It brings together investigators and clinicians from around the world to report new findings, discuss new technologies and other advances, and to foster collaboration and a sense of community as new research priorities and directions are established in the field. .For the first time, IMFAR was held in Canada in June 2006, which presented a unique opportunity to invest in the future of autism research. Autism Ontario offered a Travel Bursary program to support Canadian ASD researchers & current and future leaders in the ASD community in Ontario so that they could attend this informative meeting. Funds for these bursaries were supported with proceeds from Autism Ontario’s Together for Autism™ campaign (formerly Toonies for Autism).
The nineteen individuals who attended with the support of Autism Ontario provided a report about their conference experience.
