New Adult Issues Networking & Support Group
for family members & supporters of Adults living with ASD
Are you the parent or adult sibling of an individual with ASD who is 17 years of age or older? How are adults with autism being served today? What will their future – and yours – look like? Do you want to meet other families in your community who are living with similar situations? How can we best support each other? What’s next for us?
York Region Chapter is initiating a NEW networking & discussion group just for you! Help us shape a support group which will focus on the realities, successes and challenges for adults living with ASD and their families.

About Support Groups
We are proud to offer support group meetings monthly, facilitated by parent volunteer members of our Chapter Leadership Council. These meetings provide a wonderful opportunity to talk with other chapter members, families and others supporting individuals living with ASD.
Find out how we can help each other by sharing our experiences. We all face the same issues; learning about ASD and the impact it has on our lives, dealing with professionals, locating supports, securing funding and advocating on behalf of those we support. Whatever you are facing, someone else has been down that road.
When you consider joining a support group, think about your needs are and what you hope to gain from the experience. Also, consider your willingness to help others in the group, as groups are most effective when you are not only willing to receive support but to offer assistance as well.
By attending our support group meetings, you will be provided the opportunity to get assistance with pressing challenges or issues, receive support and guidance by dedicated individuals willing and able to offer the assistance you may be requiring.
Fees
There is no fee to attend. All meetings are subsidized in full by York Region Chapter.
Directions and Building Access Instructions
Our address is 11181 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill in the Loyal True Blue and Orange Home building, 2 lights north of Elgin Mills on the east side of Yonge Street. There is ample free parking in the large lot on the east side of the building. Keypad entry is required after 6:30 p.m. Please follow the instructions posted on the glass doors. Meeting Rooms B7 or B13 are located on the basement level. Chapter Board Room # 305 is on the 3rd floor. Please take the elevator in the lobby past the stairwell on your right.
